Spanish solar energy provider Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente SA (BME:SLR) reported a sharp upsurge in net profits for the nine-month period ending September 30, with total earnings of EUR 69.7 million (USD 72.1m). This marked an 86% year-on-year increase and was bolstered by a corresponding 53% jump in net sales due to the addition of several new solar farms. The company also stated that these farms generated 1,143 GWh during the same period, representing a 60% surge compared to previous figures.
Other income sources further contributed to the elevation of overall revenues by 51%, amounting to EUR 121 million. This gave rise to an even heftier 56% rise in EBITDA, which totalled EUR 109 million.
Currently, Solaria has 1,000 MW of solar farms in operation and a further 1,034 MW under construction - including the 626-MW Trillo solar project based in Spain. Further gains are expected as these new plants begin to feed power into the grid over the coming months.
