TigerGenCo LLC (TGC), the operator of the Bayonne Energy Center located in New Jersey, has forged a strategic alliance with NovoHydrogen to generate 120 megawatts of green hydrogen that will lower the plant's dependence on natural gas. NovoHydrogen, an off-site and on-site renewable solutions provider, revealed it would create and manage the hydrogen production facility whose output will be utilised as zero-carbon fuel for some parts of the peaking power station.

Also announced was Ohmium International Inc's delivery of 120 MW of modular Proton Exchange Membrane electrolysers for this project. This move by TGC is expected to drastically reduce emissions from Bayonne while still supplying reliable electricity to the New York Metro area. The Bayonne Energy Center, which has a capacity of 644 MW, was acquired by TigerGenCo in 2018 from Macquarie Infrastructure Corporation for 900 million USD (EUR 864.4m) fee paid in cash and assumed debt.

This collaboration between TGC and NovoHydrogen is yet another step towards clean energy revolution with renewable sources becoming more commonplace as we move into the future.
