Netherlands-based sustainable energy provider MPC Energy Solutions NV (OSE:MPCES) declared the inauguration of their two solar farms with a total capacity of 21.07 MWp in El Salvador recently. The Santa Rosa and Villa Sol plants, located in the Quezaltepeque region, are projected to generate approximately 43 GWh of electricity annually. The power generated is expected to be fed into the grid come December, as reported by La Prensa Grafica.

The complete output from these projects was procured under a 20-year USD-denominated PPA handled by CAESS, which represents US power producer AES Corp. Victor Atehortua, project manager at MPCES, declared to La Prensa Grafica that their aim is to reach 100 MW of projects in El Salvador within a span of three years. Thus, the organization intends to develop an additional 70 MW in the near future.
